Martha Thomas set West Ham Women on the way to a stylish victory against still winless Brighton & Hove Albion Women.

Alisha Lehmann’s run teed up Thomas for a close-range first-half opener.

Kenza Dali made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after a foul on Thomas by Victoria Williams and Lehmann’s stunning strike as good as sealed their second win in four Women’s Super League games so far.

Brighton, who have two draws and two defeats, grabbed an injury-time consolation when Megan Connolly struck.

The Seagulls could have led early on but Aileen Whelan hit the frame of the goal and the visitors had the better of things after that.

West Ham dominated possession and managed six efforts on target from nine attempts, while Brighton could only muster one shot on target
